Newborn tegs are fairly useless. Their shells are too soft to form protective plates yet, their smaller pair of arms don`t yet exist, and the rest of their limbs are too small to do much with but crawl. They have to be cared for and fed by older tegs, and many newborns die shortly after hatching. It takes an A`teg about 20 great cycles (around 40ish years) to fully mature into an adult, the first 5 cycles of which they spend in constant care and supervision.
DeviantDead Jack`s mother and father are farmers who live in the middle of nowhere. They`re both in their sixties, very old-fashioned and set in their ways. She dissaproves of hi womanizing and inability to find a steady girlfriend, but she thinks his auto-repair job is a good and honest way of making a living. She drinks more heavily than jack or his father, and tends to remark that she`s the brains of the family, which the others both pretty much accept as true.
HotelHaven Jack`s mother is also a farmer, and is not much different in terms of personality. HH Jack has not seen her in a very very long time, as his time as a thief has taken him far and away from his place of birth.
it varies depending on the situation. Urban tegs in large population centers will go to a Brood guild, which essentially takes care of all their needs. Historically, and in more remote areas, tegs would find a cavern or secluded spot where they were safe and secure, and begin hoarding food and planting edible fungi, for the hatchlings. they eat a great deal, and then lay in their hatching cavern and await spawning. Younger tegs tend to their needs and ensure their protection. Eventually the teg spawns it`seggs among the gathered plant matter, names them (the egg casings are translucent, the unborn tegs imprint on the first colours they see) and then dies. The body is removed by other tegs for burial, and they take care of the brood until they hatch.
Chomp (Brutus) was manufactured in a military factory. As an android, he doesn’t have real parents. However, he was “adopted” by a Special Operations task force in the North American Alliance military (in that he was assigned to that squad as a piece of operations equipment) While already preprogrammed with immense military know-how, it was up to the squad sergeant to aquaint Chomp with the squad and train him in their methods of operations, allowing Chomp to develope a personality. His commanding officer was essentially his foster parent. A gruff, commanding, and very loud foster parent.
Biological parents of new brood generations die soon after birth, their duties to their hatchlings are to provide shelter and food for the newborns, and to give them names and their first words before they pass on to the world after worlds. After death, the hatchlings are cared for by A’teg of the Brood guilds, which at it’s most basic level is like a combo of a hospital/nanny/educational organization. In remote teg communities, caretaking is the duties of elder tegs, or tegs who are found to be infertile. Elder tegs are expected to devote themselves to the broods they raise, and give their lives to protect them. They teach the broodlings everything they must know to enter A’teg society.
Since A’tegs die upon giving birth to their young, A’teg spiritual beliefs are that the essence of a teg’s life is passed on to it’s young, spreading and growing every generation. They never truly meet their parent, so they don’t have motherly connections the way people would. Teggy’s never dwelt much on his mother, the idea of meeting someone who must be dead would not sit well with him.
Ask shit about my characters that pertain to mother’s day or mothers in general
I think I need to redo a character of mine. Anyway, ask me anything.
yeah, why not. Streaming’s done, I need a new form of mild distraction.
Oh, I like this one.
